Zach has grown up in the Fox Valley area living here since 2010. He went to UW-Oshkosh to get his degree in accounting. His career didn’t get the traditional start for a CPA. Originally, he planned to go to medical school, and to further this ambition, he worked as a CNA through college. This was driven by an innate passion for helping people. After a bout with job shadowing in the medical field, he realized he needed to switch career paths. He always loved numbers and a professor who left a very strong impression on him told him that if he went into public accounting, he could take that drive and use it to help business owners achieve their goals. He was president of the accounting club and loves to stay in connection with peers and professors.
He started his career after college with Grant Thornton working across various teams to hone his technical skills, attention to detail, passion for the job, and willingness to learn anything.
He then spent almost 5 years at Vesta CPAs. As a result of his commitment to client service, focus on learning new skills, and a passion for the accounting profession he quickly rose through the ranks from senior consultant, to manager, to senior manager. At Vesta he honed his tax, tax planning, entity structuring, small to medium-size business planning, and goal-setting skills. Zach takes a unique approach to listen to the client’s goals, both personal and professional, to help guide their strategy. He seeks to understand and asks the right questions to get to the root of the problem and find solutions. He often receives comments from clients that his trust and commitment to them helps them to feel confident he always has their best interests at heart.
Outside of work he loves to travel, hike, spend time with his family and friends, read books, and listen to podcasts. He is starting his family and has a dog, Gus, that he and his wife love.
