Tanner was born and raised in West Bend, WI, where he graduated from West Bend East High School. He went on to earn both his bachelor’s & master’s degrees from UW–Milwaukee double-majoring in Accounting and Finance, and Professional Accounting, respectively. After graduating with a newfound love of the city, Tanner chose to make Milwaukee his more permanent home accepting a full-time position in the city to begin his professional career.
He spent the first five years of his career in the tax practice of one of the top ten largest national accounting firms. Where he supported many manufacturing and distribution businesses, as well as individuals with complex personal filings. During that time, he gained experience in handling multi-state and international tax matters, for both corporations and flow-through entities. Through his past experience, Tanner has prioritized clear communication with clients and internal team members. He has consistently taken a proactive approach, identifying and mitigating potential challenges while highlighting opportunities early, to support both current and future client success.
In joining Edge, Tanner is committed to continuing his career grounded in integrity and his proactive client-based approach. His goal is to make tax preparation, planning, and accounting services, as seamless and stress-free as possible. He enjoys engaging with clients and providing thoughtful guidance through transactions to ensure a smooth and efficient process. Above all, he is committed to building strong, long-term client relationships rooted in trust, communication, and a genuine understanding of each client’s goals.
Outside of work, Tanner and his fiancé, Meagan, enjoy spending time with family, traveling to new hiking destinations, watching Wisconsin based sporting events, and taking their chocolate lab, Sue, for walks. They are currently embracing all the excitement, and patience, required for wedding planning.
